Barb is the Assistant Director of Foreign Student and Scholar Services. She holds Bachelor degrees in Anthropology and Geography from the University of Montana and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Kansas. She has worked in international education and disability advocacy for 25 years. She has served as Chair of the Americans with Disabilities Act Team since 2002. She has also been a member of the Diversity Advisory Council since 2004, currently serving as its treasurer. She has also served on the University Athletic Committee, the Student Computer Fee Committee, IT Senate and various ad hoc committees throughout her tenure.
A native of Miles City, Barb brings a particular, home-grown Montana flavor of openness, tolerance and humor, but don’t be fooled – she is tough. In addition to her work and contributions at UM, Barb has also served on the Missoula County Public Schools Board of Trustees, as President of the League of Women Voters of Montana and on the Governor’s Elections Council. In these, as in all her activities, she has tirelessly championed the ideals of equality and diversity.
