UM Military Reunion | Sept. 11-13, 2025

The University of Montana proudly invites you to join us in honoring and thanking our alumni and UM-affiliated veterans — those who have served in the past and serve our country today — and their families. Registration is now open!

Military Reunion Schedule

  • 4-6 p.m. | Welcome Social at Red's Bar
    Kick things off with an informal no-host gathering at Red’s Bar, a proud alumni-owned establishment. Connect with fellow reunion attendees in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere to set the tone for weekend festivities.

     

  • 7 a.m. | Hike the M or Walk the Kim Williams Trail
    Start your day with a classic Missoula experience—choose a morning hike up the M Trail or a scenic walk along the Kim Williams Trail. Attendees will be joined by ROTC cadets and UM leadership.

    8-9:30 a.m. | Check-In & Welcome
    Swing by Brantly Hall to check in, grab your welcome materials and enjoy coffee and pastries with fellow attendees. Those unable to join at this time can check in at lunch or at the evening reception.

    10 a.m. | Memorial Row Walk
    Honor the legacy of service by joining a reflective walk along Memorial Row with fellow attendees and UM leadership.

    10:30 a.m. | Purple Heart Flag & Ceremony 
    Gather for a solemn ceremony to raise the Purple Heart flag in tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of service members. This will take place on the field in Washington-Grizzly Stadium.

    Noon | Lunch
    Enjoy a casual lunch from UM Catering and continue the camaraderie with fellow attendees.

    2 p.m. | Campus Walking Tour
    Take a guided stroll through campus and see what’s new at the University of Montana.

    4-6 p.m. | Reunion Reception
    Join us in the Canyon Club for a special reception honoring your service and celebrating our time together. Enjoy drinks and hors d'oeuvres as we present a commemorative challenge coin to each attendee and capture a group photo to mark the occasion.

     

  • 9 a.m. | Helicopter on the Oval
    Experience the excitement as a Black Hawk helicopter lands on the Oval.

    10:40 a.m. | Griz Walk
    Rally with Griz fans outside the Adams Center to show your support as the UM Band leads the charge and the team and coaches make their way to the stadium.

    11 a.m. | Tailgate
    Celebrate before kickoff with a festive tailgate alongside fellow attendees and Griz fans. Food and drinks will be provided—just bring your Griz pride!

    1 p.m. | Football Game — Military Appreciation
    Cheer on the Griz during the Military Appreciation Game, featuring special recognition of veterans during pre-game and in-game ceremonies. Ticket information will be available soon, and registrants will receive updates directly. Game tickets are sold separately.
